About this tool
Generate classic 8-bit game sound effects, coin, jump, laser, explosion, power-up, hit, and select, then play them and download each as a WAV file. Tweak the waveform, pitch, length, and slide to design your own. Everything you create is free to use, including commercially, with no credit required, and is generated entirely in your browser.
Pick a type of sound with the buttons above and it plays right away. Press the same button again, or press Another variation, to get a different sound each time. Save the ones you like with Download WAV.
The sounds are built by combining square, sawtooth, triangle, and noise waves. They are not recorded samples; they are computed on the spot, so you can make endless variations.
Open Fine-tune to change the waveform, pitch, length, punch, slide, and volume yourself, for example to make a jump sound higher or stretch a laser out longer.
You can export as WAV (44.1kHz, 16-bit, mono) or MP3. Use uncompressed WAV for game engines like Unity, Godot, and RPG Maker; use MP3 when you want a smaller file for a video or website.
Everything you create is free to use, with no credit required even for commercial projects. All processing happens on your device, and the sounds you make are never sent anywhere.
