About this tool
Compare original and revised text by line or word, highlight additions and deletions, and download the revised text. Processing stays entirely in your browser.
Line mode works well for added or removed paragraphs. A changed line break counts as a different line, so use word and character mode for small edits inside sentences.
Word and character mode separates Latin words, individual CJK characters, whitespace, and punctuation. Deletions appear in red and additions in green.
Your text never leaves the browser. The download is a UTF-8 plain-text file containing only the revised text; highlight colors are not included.
FAQ
- Can I compare long documents?
- Each input is limited to about 200,000 characters and detailed comparison to the first 4,000 tokens. Splitting very long documents by chapter makes review easier.
- Are whitespace and line breaks compared?
- Line mode detects changed line breaks. Word and character mode also treats whitespace as comparable content.
- Is my text uploaded?
- No. Comparison, copying, and file creation all happen locally in the browser.
- Can I save the result?
- You can download the revised text as a UTF-8 .txt file. The colored diff view is not included.
