About this tool
Enter the total and the number of people to get the per-person amount. Choose whether the organizer absorbs the rounding remainder or everyone shares it, and optionally split the group into people who pay more and people who pay less.
An equal split divides the bill by the group size and rounds to the selected unit. The difference between collected total and the bill is shown as a surplus or shortage.
When the organizer absorbs the remainder, participant payments stay uniform and the organizer's amount is adjusted. Shared remainder mode varies some payments while preserving the rounding unit.
Weighted splitting uses group counts and a chosen difference as a practical allocation. It does not itemize orders, personal advances, or responsibility for coupons.
FAQ
- How much is 10,000 split among four people?
- At exact-yen precision, each person pays 2,500 and there is no remainder. Rounding up to 100 also gives the same amount.
- How does the organizer absorb the remainder?
- Participant amounts are rounded up to the selected unit, and the difference between collected money and the bill is reflected in the organizer's real cost.
- What is the difference between rounding to 100 and 500?
- Each share is rounded up to the next 100 or 500. A larger unit is easier to collect but can create a larger difference from the bill.
- Can senior members pay more?
- Yes. Enter how many people pay extra and choose a 1.5×, 2×, or 3× weight. The weighted base amounts are then rounded to the selected payment unit.
