About this tool
Analyze a photo or illustration entirely in your browser and extract three to eight dominant colors. Copy each HEX or RGB value and download a PNG palette containing swatches and color codes without uploading the source image.
The image is reduced to a small sample, nearly transparent pixels are removed, and similar colors are grouped. Large background areas are more likely to appear than thin lines or small accent colors.
A larger palette separates nearby shades more often. About five colors works well for the overall mood of a photo, while seven or eight provides more detailed design options.
Analysis happens inside your browser and the image is never uploaded. Images longer than 4,096 pixels are reduced for responsiveness. Embedded color profiles and display settings can affect how colors appear.

- Is the image uploaded?
- No. Loading, color analysis, and palette creation all happen inside your browser.
- Why is a small accent color missing?
- Dominant-color extraction favors colors covering larger areas, so a small accent may not be selected.
- Are transparent pixels counted?
- Nearly transparent pixels are ignored. Semi-transparent pixels use their stored RGB values before background compositing.
- Can I save the color codes?
- Click a color to copy its HEX value, or download a PNG containing all swatches and HEX codes.
